Privacy Policy

Syncscribe · Last updated: September 26, 2026

This policy explains how Syncscribe handles information through local media processing, optional network features, subscriptions, and support.

1. Media, Transcription, and Translation

2. Network Connections and Third Parties

The app does not integrate third-party SDKs for advertising tracking or behavioral analytics. Network access may be needed for:

This policy page is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process website visits under its privacy statement. See the Apple Privacy Policy and the GitHub Privacy Statement for their practices.

3. Subscriptions and Purchase Verification

Apple's App Store processes Pro subscriptions. The app uses StoreKit to retrieve and verify product, transaction, and entitlement information to unlock features and restore purchases. The developer does not receive your card number or other payment credentials. Apple's handling of account and payment information is governed by its privacy policy.

4. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

The app may store editing drafts, project settings, transcription or editing data, models, and caches in its local application data directory. Automatically saved drafts are not necessarily stored in the export folder you select. Exports and projects you explicitly save are stored in your chosen locations.

Local data may remain until you delete the relevant files or application data. You can delete unwanted exports or saved projects in Finder. For help removing drafts and caches in the application directory, contact support and back up projects you wish to keep first. Removing the app itself should not be treated as deleting all exported files or application data.

If a folder you select is managed by iCloud Drive or another synchronization service, files may sync according to your settings for that service. This is separate from Syncscribe uploading media to the developer's servers.

5. Permissions and Your Choices

The app may request file access and speech recognition permissions. File access allows it to read selected media and save results; speech recognition permission supports the Apple recognition path. You can manage applicable permissions in macOS System Settings. Refusing or revoking permissions may make related features unavailable. If you do not want audio sent to Apple cloud recognition, do not use features that may trigger this fallback; the current app cannot guarantee that every recognition request stays on-device.

6. Support and Feedback

When you contact support or submit feedback, we may receive contact details, problem descriptions, logs, or attachments you provide and use them to address your request. Share only what is needed for troubleshooting and avoid sensitive media, passwords, or payment information. We retain support information for as long as needed to address the request, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request deletion through the support channel you used.

7. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through support.

8. Updates and Contact

Updates will be dated on this page. For material changes to our processing practices, we will provide notice and seek consent where required.

For privacy questions or data requests, use the in-app support and feedback option or repository Issues. GitHub Issues are public; do not post personal information or private files there.
